Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise that focuses on balance, posture, strength (particularly of the core) and flexibility. It's suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. We offer three types of Pilates at HOME: Mat, Equipment Studio and Reformer.
Mat Pilates uses body weight as resistance to strengthen and lengthen the muscles of your entire body evenly including legs, arms and core. Mat Pilates takes place in group classes in our regular yoga studios – all you need is a mat (bring your own or hire one).
Equipment Pilates takes place in our fantastic Pilates studio, either in small groups, pairs or one-to-one. As the name suggests, this form utilises various pieces of specialised equipment from smaller pieces such as resistance bands to larger pieces of apparatus such as the Pilates Reformer, Pilates Chair and the Cadillac.
The Pilates reformer helps create internal pressure through sprung tension to elongate the spine, joints and muscles leading to greater flexibility, strength, stamina and a more balanced posture. Reformer Pilates takes place in our Pilates studio in small groups, pairs or one-to-one.
